When choosing a lithium battery, safety is one of the most important
things to consider. Not all lithium batteries are built the same,
and the components used inside make a big difference.
Bolt Lithium Batteries are built using top-quality, automotive-grade
components with multiple layers of protection designed to help
protect your cart and give you peace of mind.
Automotive-Grade Cells
A lithium battery is only as good as the cells inside of it.
Bolt uses automotive A-grade cells that have been chosen for
their quality, consistency, reliability and safety.
The busbars connecting our cells are laser welded using
controlled heat for strong, secure and consistent connections.
Starting with the right cells and quality construction gives
us a strong foundation to build a battery you can feel
confident installing in your golf cart.
Protection Built into Every Battery
Every Bolt Lithium Battery is equipped with our proprietary
Battery Management System, also known as the BMS.
Think of the BMS as the brain of your battery, constantly
monitoring what is happening and helping protect it when
something isn’t right. Built-in protections monitor things
like temperature, voltage and current to help keep your
battery operating safely while maximizing performance.
Put to the Test
We don’t just say our batteries are built for safety; we put
them to the test. Bolt Lithium Batteries undergo extensive
third-party testing in conditions far beyond normal everyday use.
From 5-foot drop testing and horizontal and vertical vibration
testing to salt, humidity and load testing, our batteries are
pushed to their limits. We even test the strength of the wiring
inside the battery.
All of this helps us make sure our batteries are built to
handle the demands of your golf cart.
Protection on the Outside Too
Safety was part of the design from the very beginning. From the
cells and BMS inside to the steel case surrounding them, every
layer plays a part.
Bolt Lithium Batteries are built with a steel case that is
e-coated and powder coated for added protection and durability.
The steel case is also IP66 rated, adding another layer of
protection to the battery.
Metal handles make the battery easier to handle during installation,
while a securely bolted lid and integrated mounting tabs help keep
the battery protected and securely mounted in the cart.
Under extreme conditions, a plastic enclosure can melt or crack
and lose its ability to protect the components inside. Our steel
enclosure provides a strong outer barrier designed to remain intact
and help keep the battery’s components contained.
